Ketso means ‘action’ in Lesotho, where it was created in the 90s by Dr Joanne Tippett, a lecturer in Spatial Planning at the University of Manchester. Ketso was first used to engage rural communities in planning improvements for their villages. It proved to be a powerful tool for social inclusion and driving action.

In 2009 Ketso was launched as a social business that supports diverse groups to collaborate and learn more effectively, helping them to develop creative solutions to the challenges they face. It has proved to be a popular and effective strategic planning, teaching and learning tool for businesses, the public sector, academic organisations and community groups, used in more than 65 countries by hundreds of customers.
